I am Karlla Mendes, tattoo artist born in brazil and currently living in australia.
How did you get started with tattooing?
i started tattooing in 2003 and i have a studio in são paulo, Brazil for 20 years and another in australia in melbourne where i have been for 4 years but i also travel a lot and i do guest and conventions in several countries taking my art and my social project around the world
my style of tattooing is jewel tattoos and scar coverage and I give new meaning to people’s lives with the art of tattooing
Why did you start to get tattooed?
Before becoming a tattoo artist I studied law for 3 years , but as soon as I got my first tattoo I fell in love with art , with being able to leave a little bit of myself in each drawing and in each person and I dropped out of college to dedicate myself only to tattooing , my first tattoo was on my mother , and i loved doing it , nowadays i try to make exclusive pieces for my clients based on their stories and what they want to represent with my art and also with jewelry i can create an art that ends up empowering my clients because they are inspired by jewelry , diamonds , crystals etc

How did you get started?
and also in 2017 I created my social project o se are diamonds which consists of covering scars on people who have suffered domestic violence, cancer, unsuccessful surgeries, disorders etc. my month to serve these people for free and also at the conventions in which I participate I set aside a day to assist someone for the social project this was a way I found to feel fulfilled knowing that with my art I can improve and give new meaning to people’s lives and history this project makes me grateful to the universe and to everyone who participates and shares their history with me and with this project of mine I studied a lot about scars becoming very experienced in dealing with many different types of scar tissue from the simplest to the most complex and with this project of mine I studied a lot about scars becoming very experienced in dealing with several different types of scar tissue from the simplest to the most complex and I also have two specialist doctors in my team and in my social project who give me full support in this case and with that I also created a course where I teach other professionals in the area to deal well with scar coverage I dedicate myself a lot to my work because it’s the thing I love to do the most and I feel grateful and blessed for that, and I advise anyone who wants to start in this career to just start loving themselves a lot because everything we do by loving it works out and the return is inevitable
